From the Washington Post: "A divided Senate narrowly confirmed former federal judge Michael B. Mukasey last night as the 81st attorney general, giving the nominee the lowest level of congressional support of any Justice Department leader in the past half-century."

Prior to the confirmation vote, the Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings on October 17 and October 18 with Michael Mukasey. The web page for the October 18 hearing includes records of questions and answers for the (then) nominee.
