From the Missoulian: "Energy producers in the Northwest are running full tilt under the summer sun, generating electricity to drive power-hungry air conditioners amid days of record heat.
"A recent analysis shows the region has the capacity to keep up with that enormous demand, at least for the next several summers, but that it might come at a hefty price."
The Northwest Power and Conservation Council (NPCC) has posted the referenced report, "Pacific Northwest Resource Adequacy Assessment: 2010 and 2012," on its website. This month, the NPCC also issued draft revised fuel price forecasts for comment.
