2008 State of the State

From the Missoulian: "Gov. Brian Schweitzer used his State of the State address Wednesday night to unveil a proposed $44 million-a-year tax on oil-and-gas production to fund higher teacher salaries in the state."

The Governor gave the State of the State address last night. The outline of his address has been posted on the State of Montana website. A related bill, HB 388, presents details of the oil and gas surtax for education funding plan. The LAWS database has the text of the bill.
