"The Montana Democrat has introduced a bill that would restrict deployment of National Guard troops. Baucus and a number of governors, including Montana's, say sending National Guard men and women to the Middle East has left too great a security gap at home."
Senator Baucus introduced S. 2303 on February 16, 2006. The Senator's introductory remarks on the measure appear on page s1423 of the Congressional Record. The bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on Armed Services.
